Pup-date – Miraculous Miko two years on

17 June 2020 / General

Some of you may remember the incredible story regarding the puppy that was rescued from a house fire back in June 2017.

When Miko was brought in to our hospital in Runcorn, to say it was ‘touch and go’ was an understatement, but this little guy proved to be one heck of a fighter despite his injuries and the disabilities he was likely to be left with. Along with the continued perseverance of his neurologist and the rest of the NWVS team, Miko was on his way home 2 weeks later.

As a specialist referral hospital, we don’t often get to see our patients again once they have been signed off and are back to full health, so it was lovely to see Miko and his owners when they popped into see us on the second anniversary of his emergency referral.

Two years on Miko really is living life to the full, despite limited sight (he clearly had no problem finding the treats !) slight brain damage (we think he uses this to his advantage), and a funny little walk (barely noticeable). It warmed all of our hearts to see such a happy dog.

Miko really is one very lucky little dog.
