Caroline Boothroyd

Oncology Head Nurse

Caroline started veterinary nursing in 2000 and qualified in 2002. She hence moved to a branch practice where she was Head Nurse for 5 years. She joined NWVS in 2007 and was initially based in the surgery department. When the medicine department was established in 2009 she spent most of her time assisting the medicine team and became a dedicated medicine nurse in 2014. When oncology started at NWVS in 2016 she then became the dedicated oncology nurse. She passed the Certificate in Small Animal Nutrition in 2010 and became a Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) in Small Animal Internal Medicine in 2014. She hopes to start collecting cases in October 2019 to enable her application to become a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Oncology. She has lectured both nationally (For Northwest Veterinary Specialists, at BSAVA congress and for Synergy CPD) and internationally (Norway 2018). At home Caroline spends her time looking after her two cats, Abby and Ziva and two rabbits, Thumper and Arnna.
