Nick Macdonald

Nick graduated from the RVC in 1999 before undertaking an internship at the University of Glasgow, where he received a Master of Veterinary Medicine degree, and acting as a House Officer at Davies Veterinary Specialists.

After working at the PDSA for 2 years he spent a year as Clinician Teacher in Anatomy and Surgery at the University of Liverpool before completing a Residency in Small Animal Surgery. Following 2 further years spent in the surgery department, in 2011 he moved to a private referral practice in Bristol to head the Orthopaedics department. After a further 2½ years in a multidisciplinary private referral practice in Winchester, Nick has joined the Orthopaedic team at Northwest Veterinary Specialists.

In 2012 he became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Nick is interested in all aspects of Small Animal Surgery with a particular interest in arthroscopy, including arthroscopic management of meniscal disease, minimally invasive fracture repair, and laparoscopy.
