Rhian Griffiths-Jones

Head Nurse Surgery

Rhian qualified from Holme Lacy college in 2007 and became a Registered Veterinary Nurse in February 2008. Rhian started her veterinary nursing career in a large mixed animal practice in Aberystwyth, where she trained to become an RVN. Rhian gained a wealth of nursing experience dealing with large and small animals in her five years at the practice, and gained a further Certificate in Veterinary Nursing of the exotic Species. Rhian then moved to north Wales where she worked at another referral practice where she obtained her Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care, which led her to work at Knowsley Safari park as a seasonal warden for a few months. She then joined Northwest Veterinary Specialists in September 2010 as a rotational nurse, whilst at Northwest Veterinary Specialists she has obtained her Advanced veterinary nursing Diploma and has gone on to join the management team as the Head Surgical Nurse. Rhian has a keen interest in surgical nursing, emergency and critical care and anaesthesia. Rhian enjoys running, often partaking in half and full marathons, riding, spending time with her family and friends on her small holding in north Wales. Rhian currently has two horses called Seren and Foelas, a crazy Labrador called Ben, a bonkers beagle called Madog, two pigs called Tony and Twten, 12 chickens and ten calves. But the menagerie is still growing.
