Part Time Receptionist

Cover for maternity leave

8 hours per week – Saturday 9am – 5pm

Looking for an experienced receptionist that can deal with a busy work place in an ever changing environment to start in January/February

Reporting to: – Support Services Manager and Deputy

Key Responsibilities;

  • Manage and deal with appointment bookings in a professional and efficient manner
  • Greeting clients and their pets for appointments, being sensitive to their needs while promoting a professional image at all times
  • Answer and make calls to veterinary practices and clients with a high level of customer service
  • Adapt well to learning a new system if no previous experience
  • Comply with Health and Safety regulations and local policy within the surgery
  • Be a positive member of the team
  • Work well with others in the team
  • Ensure that reception and other areas of the practice are kept to a high standard of cleanliness and are presentable at all times
  • Bereavement handling – offer emotional assistance to clients in sensitive situations
  • Show awareness of financial control within the practice
  • Be happy to discuss financial issues with clients if needs be
  • Adhere to and be able to locate all Company and local policies and procedures

Desirable qualities

  • Previous experience working in this type of environment
  • Previously used the system Voyager
  • Use to a fast working pace
  • Embraces changes and help with team development through change


9am – 5pm shifts

8 hours per week, potential for shift cover during the week
