Northwest Veterinary Specialists (part of Linnaeus Veterinary Ltd), Sutton Weaver, UK
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to lead your own Imaging team within a friendly, ambitious, supportive multi-disciplinary private referral hospital in the beautiful Northwest?
We can offer a 4-day week with generous holiday and CPD allowance, competitive salary, and proactive support to develop your career in combination with a strong focus on wellbeing and positive workplace culture. The opportunity to incorporate an element of working from home may be available for this senior position. Participation in an on-call rota allows us to provide excellent care to our referring practices outside normal working hours.
Our Diagnostic Imaging team is at the heart of our diagnostic services and currently consists of one experienced Advanced Practitioner in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging, two NHS-trained Advanced Practitioners in Ultrasound (Diagnostic Medical and Small Animal Veterinary), and three Advanced Imaging Nurse Practitioners. Our additional specialities include anaesthesia and analgesia, internal medicine, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopaedics, oncology and soft tissue surgery.
Current facilities for Diagnostic Imaging include X MRI scanner Hitachi Aperto Lucent 0.4T, X CT scanner Toshiba Aquillion 16 row helical, X Fluroscopy unit Cios connect 20523, X Radiography Nova unit with AGFA CR reader and three Ultrasound machines, include Vivid 8, Esaote Mylab 8 and LE Logiq-e. Our ongoing hospital expansion plans include an upgrade of our MRI scanner in the near future, and regular visits by a mobile 1.5T MRI scanner currently supplement our services.
Our Clinicians support several residency programmes in addition to our rotating internship programme, and we would encourage development of a residency programme in Diagnostic Imaging. We believe in striving for excellence in combination with strongly supporting a Just Culture, and weekly practice-wide meetings include Significant Event Review, Grand Rounds and focal groups such as Infection Control, CPR training and Wellbeing. Our focus on Respect and Kindness encourages a warm, supportive team culture that enhances our work environment, as well as our patient care, and support of clients and referring veterinarians.
As a recent member of Linnaeus Veterinary Limited, we are excited to be working closely with other referral centres within our group to facilitate clinical research and expand access to shared expertise. Linnaeus strongly encourages personal development, and has recently launched an outstanding leadership programme alongside clinical training resources.
Our location in the Northwest provides easy access to a huge range of activities ranging from beautiful countryside for hiking, rock-climbing or horse-riding, to vibrant city life in Liverpool and Manchester, and water-sports on rivers or coast. Transport links are close with Liverpool & Manchester airports each only 20-30min drive from our hospital, and a London train journey from nearby Chester taking only 2 hours. Property prices and general living costs allow a more comfortable quality of life compared to Southern regions of the UK.
If you are a Diplomate of ECVDI or ACVR, or hold similar small animal diagnostic imaging qualifications or experience, then we would love to hear from you. We will also consider residency-trained candidates who have ambition to lead a service in future, providing support as they develop their career through Board exams and beyond.
