Here at Northwest Veterinary Specialists we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Oncology nurse to join our expanding team.

You will be joining a friendly group of two oncology specialists, two oncology residents and two other oncology nurses on a full time, permanent basis, providing high standards of client and inpatient care.

Northwest Veterinary Specialists is a leading specialist referral small animal hospital located in modern facilities in Sutton Weaver within an easy commute from Chester, Liverpool, Manchester, Runcorn and Warrington.

Each of the clinical disciplines is staffed to European Diplomate or RCVS Specialist standards. The hospital is well equipped and provides excellent inpatient facilities with qualified RVNs and veterinary interns on-site 24/7. Imaging includes computed radiography, fluoroscopy (with digital subtraction and road-mapping), ultrasonography and on-site MRI and CT.

Our brilliant team of talented nurses work closely with our specialist clinicians to help us in our mission to deliver the best small animal referral care in the North West.

This busy role will involve, preparing cytotoxic drugs for administration, administering chemotherapy, palliative patient care, anaesthetics and sedations for staging of oncology patients, working alongside the clinicians/residents during clinics and some client interaction.

The oncology clinic runs Monday to Friday, but you will be required to help cover the weekend working rota which is inpatient care.

Experience is not essential, as all training will be provided, but the successful candidate will have an interest in oncology nursing and share our passion for delivering outstanding nursing and care for all our patients as if they were your own.

As a market leader in small animal care we offer a supportive and friendly working environment together with plenty of career development opportunities and an excellent package and benefits that includes a competitive salary and holiday allowance; contributory pension and private medical; professional memberships paid; plus, a personal development plan to support your chosen career pathway with a CPD allowance to achieve this; access to Pets at Home discretionary share schemes and discounts; and, a day off for your birthday.
