We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Small Animal Anaesthesia Intern to join our Anaesthesia team. The team currently consists of 5 Anaesthetists (3 ECVAA Diplomats and 2 residency trained Anaesthetists) and 4 Nurses (including 1 VTS Anaesthesia Nurse).
The successful candidate will hold a veterinary degree and be registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (or be eligible to register with the RCVS). The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia. Good experience gained within small animal general practice would be advantageous.
Our Anaesthesia Intern is part of our supportive team at Northwest Veterinary Specialists, a busy multi-disciplinary referral hospital, and will also work at Eye Vet, our dedicated ophthalmology clinic, located a short distance away.
Both specialist centres are an easy commute from historic Chester, Liverpool North Wales or Manchester, close to international airports and excellent road and rail links. We’re also on the outskirts of picturesque Delamere Forest, with the largest area of woodland in the country, and within easy reach of Snowdonia and the Peak District, so have the best of both city living and rural life on our doorstep.
Our specialities cover anaesthesia and pain management, neurology and neurosurgery, soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, oncology, internal medicine, cardiology, and diagnostic imaging (including on site MRI and CT); and we work closely with other referral centres in our group to facilitate clinical research and access to shared expertise.
If you would like to start a career in Veterinary Anaesthesia and join our supportive, professional team of EBVS and RCVS specialists and highly skilled nurses, we would love to hear from you.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and have a good knowledge of written and spoken English.
Please contact Perrine Benmansour DVM MVetSc Dip ECVAA MRCVS, Head of Service to apply (with your CV and letter of intent) or for any informal enquiries.
