Feline Blood Donors

Could your cat be a lifesaver?

Our feline blood donors play a critical role in helping patients in need of blood transfusions. If you believe your cat may be suitable as a blood donor, we can arrange for a blood typing and general health check with one of our nurses.

This information will be documented, and we will contact you when blood is required. Typically, we only allow cats to donate twice per year.

On the day of donation, we will conduct blood tests to ensure your cat is healthy and ready to donate. After administering a light sedation, we will collect the blood and provide fluid therapy, food, and a few hours of recovery time before the cat is ready to go home.

If you're interested in registering your feline friend as a blood donor to help potentially save the lives of other cats, please email Leanne at [email protected].
