Dog Friendly Clinic
Northwest Veterinary Specialists is proud to be an accredited dog-friendly clinic.
We are proud to be an accredited dog-friendly clinic, assessed by Dogs Trust and the British Veterinary Behaviour Association (BVBA), as a guarantee of our commitment to our canine patients. We have taken steps to train our staff on canine behaviour and handling to aid in reducing stress within our veterinary clinic to directly improve the welfare of our patients.
As a dog-friendly clinic, our facilities include:
- A dog waiting area, with visual barrier, treats and bedding.
- Canine pheromonal diffusers in all clinical areas for calming and reassurance.
- Calming music in clinical areas which has been proven to aid relaxation in the clinic.
- A variety of diagnostic services across a range of specialist disciplines, provided with low-stress handling.
- Dog-specific kennels with soft bedding and orthopaedic padding. Privacy provided by covering half of the kennel, with raised bowls, toys and other enrichment tools also available.
- Dog park stations for patients that don’t tolerate kennels.
