DVM, FHEA, Dipl. ECVAA, MRCVS

Joanna graduated from the Veterinary Faculty in Warsaw, Poland in 2007 and is a European Specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia. She began her anaesthesia career with an internship at the University of Liverpool, followed by a residency at the University of Zurich.

After completing her specialist training, Joanna returned to the University of Liverpool as a Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Anaesthesia before joining NWVS in June 2020.

Her clinical interests include the management of patients with respiratory disease, airway complications, and the unique challenges of brachycephalic breeds. She is also passionate about the care of critically ill patients and the use of locoregional anaesthesia to support surgical recovery.

Outside of work, Joanna enjoys long walks with her Rhodesian Ridgeback, Ralph (Ralphie), spending time with her family, and travelling to places with a little less rain. She also shares her home with Lemon, her much loved older ginger cat.
