Dear Friend & Colleagues,

I am delighted to announce that I have joined Northwest Veterinary Specialists and am very proud to be leading our fantastic team as the Clinical Director. Our goal is to provide the best care for the dogs and cats who need our help, including kind support of each pet’s owners – and helping you, our colleagues, with support and advice on looking after your patients whether they require a visit to our hospital or not.

During the turbulent Covid-19 pandemic, we have been making many changes to minimise the risks to our team while still providing the best care for the many dogs and cats who require emergency or urgent treatment. I know you will have been experiencing as many challenges as us in balancing our team’s safety with our patient and pet-owner care. Please let us know if your clients experience any difficulties during their visit to us; all feedback is very helpful and welcomed by us.

Having worked in the North West region for most of the last 15 years, I am aware how frustrating it can be if referring a patient involves calling several referral centres before your patient is accepted, especially in an emergency. Our goal is to accept all cats and dogs that need our help, whether as a routine or emergency patient. We are evolving our team and procedures with this goal as our aim, and although the Covid-19 pandemic is causing some restrictions, we expect to be able to accept your patients in the vast majority of referral situations in the near future.

We are currently holding a number of ‘routine’ patients on waiting lists due to the Covid-19 restrictions, but as the lockdown eases, our ‘routine’ patients will be receiving their care in the near future.

Please contact me if you have any questions or feedback at [email protected].

Thank you for your ongoing support, and I hope you and your team are able to remain safe and healthy over the coming weeks. We look forward to seeing you in person in future months.

Kind regards

Prue
